Music and science have rarely been used together with the aims of promoting science literacy. I write my own songs and work with local musicians to create a science music experience like no other! The objective is to create a novel avenue for science communication through performing and sharing fun tunes.

Our microbial selves
We are full of bacteria and it is time to meet them.
Bacterial cells outnumber our own at a ratio of 1 to 10 (althought there is some debate). Many researchers are now trying to understand their role in health, development and natural selection. For example, current efforts suggest microbial communities influence nutrient uptake and immune response (see for example Demonstration projects from the Human Microbiome Project). To understand the role of microbial communities in our health and welfare we need to integrate ecological theory, experiments and the most advanced molecular and bioinformatic tools.
